This is my 1983 Mercedes Benz 500SEC, equipped with a genuine AMG M117 6.0L DOHC 32-Valve motor, as found in the super-rare "Hammer" version of the 300E/300CE. This car has been my pride and joy for the past 9 years, but family matters have forced it's sale. The VIN# is WDB12604412005360, clear title. It's a euro import and ebay won't take euro VIN#'s. The chassis itself has over 200K miles of AZ driving. No rust issues, it was imported to Scottsdale, AZ new and has stayed an AZ car. The car has been fully restored with the drivetrain, electrical, interior, and basically 90% of the car coming from a carfax-certified, 47,000-mile, 1986 560SEC AMG fitted with the items listed below, VIN# WDBCA4509GA267567. The car iteself was purchased by me in 1999 from my father-in-law, owner of German Car Service here in Scottsdale, and a W126 coupe aficionado. Of course, all restoration work was done here as well. I have an itemized invoice from Mercedes tuner, RennTech, in Lake Park, FL, showing $11,703.55 worth of work done by the previous owner of the 560SEC AMG, 500 miles before he had an unfortunate accident and wrote the car off to insurance. No front or rear impact, just damage to sides and roof rail. Anyway, I have the full story that there is no room here. On to the specifics: Imperfections: There is a 4-inch-long crack in the dash above the instrument cluster, rest of dash is perfect. A 2-inch-long hairline crack in the wood above the ingition, rest of wood is immaculate. Rear shelf looks fine, but is a bit dry to the touch, from the AZ heat (even comes with original first aid kit). Passenger mirror is not operating correctly- I had a new switch installed, but it didn't solve the problem. All other electronics appear to work fine- windows, telescoping wheel, climate control (A/C), seat heaters, Sony CD, all work fine. The chrome trim on much of the exterior should be re-painted. There is a 12-inch-long area on the trim above the windsheild that flaked off from the last detail/buff job, it has been quickly touched up. There is also a similar area, about 3-inches-long on the trim of the rear glass. Various chips and small scratches exist on this 9-year-old paint that have been touched up. Overall, the paint is in very good condtion and still extremely glossy and wet looking, as seen in photos. The Good Stuff: - Euro headlights with Mercedes xenon ballasts (can easily be converted back) - New RennTech full stainless steel exhaust system with Porsche catalysts- $2000 on RennTech invoice and less than 2000 miles young. Sounds incredible! - 3.27:1 limited-slip rear differential. Verifed limited-slip is functional. Non Gleason-Torsen - Full black leather interior with only 48K miles of wear, near perfect. Burlwood is nearly flawless. No cracks on shifter gate or climate control panel. - AMG front & rear aprons (spoilers) and decklid spoiler, AMG instrument cluster to 190mph showing true drivetrain mileage, AMG leather steering wheel, Bilstein-AMG shocks with AMG springs (anti-squat suspension, not hydraulic), stainless brake lines, slotted rotors with newer Wolf pads, AMG rear badge, AMG Beverly Hills Motoring license plate frame, AMG 3-peice 17x8.5" front and 17x10" rear black powder-coated centers wrapped in 245/45 and 275/40 rubber - AMG 64-page genuine Technical Data Manual printed for Beverly Hills Motoring, containing vital specs/settings on the DOHC motors and various other AMG parts and part numbers is included - AMG M117 6.0L DOHC 32-valve motor developing 375hp & 407 lb-ft torque, equipped with AMG headers, and AMG-valved 4-speed transmission for lightning fast shifts. Truly a rare find, this motor alone was a $46K option in 1986. The chassis has traveled approximately 50K miles in the last 9 years of which not even 2K of them have been in the last 5 years since I started the restoration. The numbers "289 / 6.0 / 80" are stamped into the passenger-side valve cover (in photo) signifying production run, engine size, and technician #, according to Hartmut Feyhl, founder of RennTech. I feel the opening bid is very fair, to the point of a reasonable replacement cost of trying to source the motor alone. I have additional photos, email if you are seriously interested in the car. I've tried to be ans honest as possible, see my ebay feedback. I'll be happy to answer additional questions, but again, please be a serious shopper. Car is for sale locally as well. Check out the 300E Hammer currently on ebay for 4 more days, already up to almost $41K with reserve not met and the car has a bone-stock interior! Buyer to arrange shipping and or exporting costs.
